The award winning 3C, Continuous Cool Country, is available throughout the UK as one of the free radio services on Freeview Digital TV on Channel 724. 3C has won worldwide acclaim, being voted Best Country Music Format in the World by judges at the International Radio Festival of New York; twice being awarded the Gold WorldMedal.
3C is the first national country music service in the history of UK radio and the first ever UK national radio station to be based in Scotland. Produced in Glasgow and launched in 2000 on DAB digital radio and the Internet, 3C is also available on selected DAB services with a potential audience of over 10m. The launch of 3C on Freeview extends its coverage to around three out of four UK homes.
3C brings listeners the latest and hottest hits from the superstars of Country, plus exciting music from the up and coming artists who are the Country stars of tomorrow. Every weekend, 3C presents ‘Country Countdown USA’ direct from Nashville, featuring the weeks' Top 30 country hits plus Lon Helton chatting to celebrity co-hosts such as Brooks & Dunn, Faith Hill, and Trisha Yearwood.
Freeview is the free to air digital terrestrial TV service launched in 2002. It has expanded to include a range of free to air TV and Radio channels. There are now around six million Freeview capable sets and adapters in use in the UK, all of which are be able to receive 3C on channel 724. Freeview adapters to receive 3C and other Freeview services are widely available from electrical retailers for a one-off purchase price starting around £30. No subscription is required to listen to 3C.
3C Freeview Tip!
You don't actually need to have the TV switched on to listen to 3C. Most Freeview boxes have an audio cable which you can link directly into a 'spare' or 'aux' audio input socket on your hi-fi. This way you can listen to 3C on channel 724 on Freeview with the TV set turned off, and just the digi-box turned on and tuned to Channel 724.
